No plan to raise Diesel prices’

NEW Delhi, January 20 (AGENCIES): India’s federal government currently has no plan to raise diesel prices, the country’s new oil minister S. Jaipal Reddy said Thursday, adding that gasoline prices will continue to be market-driven. “There is no proposal on the anvil for a diesel price hike,” Mr. Reddy, who replaced Murli Deora as the oil minister, told reporters. r. Reddy also said his ministry will aim to accelerate a decision on Cairn Energy PLC’s proposal of selling a stake in its Indian unit to Vedanta Resources PLC. “We will not lose time in expediting the process,” he said.
