Kiphire, August 27 (MExN): The (USSC) has reiterated its opposition to the transfer of teachers from schools in its jurisdiction without the appointment of relievers, even as the recent rationalisation notification by the Department of School Education continues to draw concerns across Nagaland.
In a representation to the Principal Director, Directorate of School Education, the USSC stated that it had taken serious note of a number of teachers being transferred from schools under the Sangtam area without replacements.
Such practices, it pointed out, pose a “serious threat to the academic progress and overall development of students.”
Reaffirming its earlier position, the USSC urged the department to ensure that “no teacher is transferred without a proper replacement in place.”
The Conference further cautioned that it will not permit the issuance of release orders for such teachers from the district.
Should the department proceed in contravention of its stand, the USSC said it reserves the right to initiate “appropriate measures at its sole discretion” to protect the rights and welfare of the students’ community.
In such cases, it added, the department must bear full responsibility for any consequences.
The USSC appealed to the Directorate to prioritise the matter and take immediate corrective steps, stating that the support of the authorities is “vital for the academic future of Sangtam students.”
The Conference highlighted that seven schools within its jurisdiction have seen teachers transferred without relievers.
