Kohima, July 28 (MExN): The five-day long All India Football Federation (AIFF) D’ License Course concluded at IG stadium Kohima on Friday. The course was initiated by Khiamniungan Sports Council under the aegis of Nagaland Football Association.

In the closing ceremony program, K Neibou Sekhose, Nagaland Football Association President urged the coaches to give back to society by sharing the knowledge what they have learnt during the coaching camp. He added that coaches need to have patience, understanding and good character to be role models and the ability to bring out the best of the players.

While appreciating the sports council for organising the course, he informed that the introduction of Football for Schools project by the All India Football Federation has given opportunity to Nagaland to train more coaches.

He further informed that the association will be organising an AIFF C licence course this year.

Khiamniungan Sports Council President, Musho Lam said that due to lack of adequate infrastructure and facilities in Noklak, the course was taken up at Kohima with the initiative of the sports council.

“You are taking a responsibility back” he said to the coaches and asked them to mould the upcoming footballers in return. He also appreciated the Nagaland Football Association and Department of Youth Resources for giving platform to the district to host a course in the state capital.

Altogether, 24 football coaches from Noklak district took part in the weeklong camp. N William Koso, AIFF D Coach Educator and AFC A licensed coach was the instructor for the course. The results of the course will be announced by AIFF at a later date.
