Noklak, April 20 (MExN): Noklak District Task Force (DTF) on COVID-19 held a meeting at DC’s Conference Hall, Noklak on April 20.

Chairing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Noklak, Reny Wilfred, IAS informed the house on the alarming rate of pandemic in the Country. The DC therefore, urged the DTF members to be well prepared in order to check and control the spread. He requested all the tribal apex bodies, sectors leaders of Noklak town, village leaders and church bodies to play a major role in disseminating the awareness and to effectively control the COVID-19.

A DIPR report stated that the house resolved to designate AYUSH Hospital as COVID-19 Care Center. The house deliberately the issue of people coming from outside the State to which it has resolved to undergo a mandatory home quarantine for ten days or COVID-19 test after three days. Those drivers and staff of essential commodities, separate precautionary measures have to be taken care. The meeting also discussed compulsory wearing of mask, social distancing and hand washing in all the public places. 

SP Noklak, Dr Pritpal Kaur, IPS encouraged the house to take vaccine and give awareness on the COVID-19 vaccine. Dr Kaur requested the parents to encourage the students to study at home and teach various works in order to avoid anti-social elements by the students during the time of school closure.

SDO (C) Noklak, C Phuniang informed that the guidelines and SOP will be strictly enforced in the district.

Khiamniungan Tribal President, M Thangou requested the house to start a COVID-19 vaccination campaign in all the villagers in order to reach vaccine to all, especially where there is no health sub-center.

Medical Officer, Noklak, Dr Chongya highlighted on the vaccination status in the District and mentioned on the advantages of taking COVID-19 vaccine. Church bodies have been requested to educate and disseminate awareness to the mass.
