Dimapur, July 21 (MExN): The District Transport Officer, Motor Vehicles Department, Dimapur Nagaland has issued an order relating to the form and manner of display of Registration marks on Motor vehicles which will come into force with immediate effect. The order informed the general public that as per the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989 Section 50 (2d) A.B, the letters of registration shall be in English and the figures shall be in Arabic numerals. Personalized vehicles are directed to use black letters/ numerals on white background while commercial vehicles should use black letters/ numerals on yellow background. The DTO in a press release has requested all vehicles to strictly adhere to the norms specified; failing which defaulters will be penalized according to the Motor Vehicle Act.
