NPCC appoints new district level presidents

Kohima, September 25 (MExN): The President, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee Congress (NPCC) has made new appointments in the post of President in four districts.

As per a press release from NPCC General Secretary, Admin, N Yona Konyak, the President NPCC has appointed Tsenthungo Lotha in place of A Bendang Jamir as President, Dimapur District Congress Committee (DCC). The appointment was made with the approval of AICC in reference to June 6 and 7 meetings of NPCC. Bendang has been appointed as Co-opted Member of NPCC Executive Committee.

For Longleng DCC, Phuyam P has been appointed as President, with the approval of AICC in reference to June 6 and 7 NPCC meetings.

For Mon DCC, the President has appointed Hawang T Wangsha in place of Chingwang Konyak as President, Mon DCC. The presidents will also continue to be Executive Committee Member of the respective DCCs by virtue of being President for more than 365 days, the release added.

For Phek DCC, Khosapa Venuh has been appointed as President, Phek DCC, with approval of AICC, in reference to June 6 and 7 meeting of NPCC.

The release stated that Mikha Kenye has been relieved from the post of President to enable him to take over his new assignment as President, Chakhesang Public Organization. NPCC conveyed gratitude to all the outgoing presidents for serving the party and wished the best to the new presidents in their new responsibilities.

Meanwhile, another press release from Communications Department, NPCC stated that as per the directive of AICC, the NPCC will be observing the 150th Birth Anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi with full participation of party workers at all levels.

On October 2, Padyatra will be held in Dimapur starting from 8:00 am from Dimapur DCC office to City Tower and back. Dimapur DCC and its frontals will organize mass participation of party workers from all 5 ACCCs in addition to inviting well wishers and sympathizers to take part in Padyatra. On October 3, there will be a seminar cum meeting at 11:00 am at Congress Bhavan Kohima with a guest speaker from Delhi. This will be followed by a meeting on agendas of upcoming Membership drive, Training programs etc. The NPCC has requested all PCC office bearers, PCC Members, members of various PCC committees & departments, Ex INC Candidates, frontal chiefs & their colleagues, DCC President & colleagues including district frontal office bearers and ACCC Presidents to attend.
