NPCC condemns Church attacks in Karnataka

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 3 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has condemned attacks on Churches in Karnataka on December 1. “14 churches being attacked within one hour in various places proves that it is pre-meditated,” said a press release from the NPCC President, K Therie.

The NPCC claimed that while anti-conversion laws were also brought in by BJP ruled states, “the Christian population in India has not grown from 2.3% since independence.”

“Religion is an acceptance of an individual’s inner heart,” the NPCC stated, adding that “by doing so, no individual has offended either any religion nor the Constitution of India.” “Every Christian that believes in Christ and has faith would surely admit the Karnataka Government is doing wrong. As a Christian State, it is shameful to have a Government that is alien to persecution of Christians,” the NPCC said.

It further condemned the action of the “BJP’s organs” and the “attitude and action of Karnataka Government for its bias and ill will against Christian society.”
