NPF 55 A/C Tobu seeks clarification from F&CS dept

Mon, September 17 (MExN): The NPF 55 A/C Tobu and public of Tobu Town in Mon district have sought clarification on various issues relating to Priority Household (PHH) ration and commodities in the Fair Price Shop (FPS) in the Town.

In a letter to the Director of Food & Civil Supplies Dimapur, S Ngaubu Konyak President NPF 55 A/C Tobu and  P Shammaoh Konyak General Secretary NPF 55 A/C Tobu sought clarification as to why a total of 1330 PHH beneficiaries have been deleted.

“Till June 2020, the total beneficiaries of PHH were 4150,” they wrote, while expressing surprise at the deletion of 1330 beneficiaries from July to September.

They sought the reason for the “sudden and hasty decrease in beneficiaries.”

Meanwhile, the letter also mentioned that “As per the food Act of India every individual is entitled to receive 5kgs of rice per month under Priority Household (PHH) ration at the rate of Rs 3 per kg.”

However, only 3 kgs of rice at Rs 5 is being issued by our Fair Price Shop (FPS) holder, they alleged.

Further, they also said that except for rice, they were not receiving other essential commodities like dal, sugar etc.
In this connection, the letter asked the Director to clarify on “the remaining rice and other essential commodities” and also asked the reason for the extra Rs 2 being charged in the FPS.

They also mentioned that the PMGKAY rice transportation charge for the month of April, May, June, July and August 2020 was being charged by the FPS holder of Tobu HQ.

“…is not the concern department responsible for all the transportation and carrying charges? If not, who will pay the transportation charge and from which source?” they questioned.

The clarification was sought for these issues from the Director “…so that any misunderstanding would be clear for once and all in future,” the letter added.
