The Naga People’s Front (NPF), Zunheboto Division, on Monday launched its Division Constituencies Tour Programme with a consultative meeting held at GB’s Hall in Aghunato Town.

Addressing the gathering, Khehoshe Yepthomi, President of NPF Zunheboto Division, stressed the importance of conducting the upcoming population census properly. He noted that the population of Zunheboto district in 2011 had declined compared to the 2001 census and urged party officials to cooperate and coordinate with the administration and enumerators to ensure accurate data collection.

Kuhoi Zhimo, General Secretary of the Central Office Bearers (COB) of the NPF, emphasised the need to strengthen the party. He described the NPF as one of the oldest regional parties and said that a merger between the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and the NPF would be necessary for its consolidation.

He added that party leaders envision expanding the NPF further and eventually elevating it to a national party. Stressing unity across all sections, he said such cohesion would enhance recognition and regard for the Nagas by the Government of India.

Vikaho Zhimomi, Vice President of the Zunheboto Division, urged party workers of the 34 A/C to remain sincere and committed. He called on them to stay united and support their constituency representative.

Kakheho Yepthomi, Secretary of COB NPF, highlighted various government schemes, including PMKSY under the Water Resources Department, NSDMA initiatives, PMEGP, Social Welfare Department schemes, PM-Kisan and PMAY (Housing for All). He encouraged people to consult one another and make full use of these schemes.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Kughaho Zhimo, Working President of NPF 34 A/C. It began with an invocation, followed by a session led by Kasheli T., Secretary of the Women Wing, and a welcome address by Akato Yeptho, President of 34 A/C NPF.

Short speeches were delivered by representatives of various wings of the 34 A/C, while a special song presented by Mughase Zhimomi, Vice President of the Youth Wing, added a cultural element to the programme.

The event concluded with a discussion session, a vote of thanks by Tohuvi Yeptho and a closing prayer offered by Nizhehe Kinnimi.

Speaking to the media, Khehoshe Yepthomi said the Constituencies Tour Programme will span six days. The schedule includes: March 23 at 34 A/C Aghunato; March 24 at 36 A/C Satakha; March 25 at 31 A/C Akuluto; March 26 at 32 A/C Atoizu; March 27 at 33 A/C Suruhuto; and March 28 at 35 A/C Zunheboto.
