In the wake of the recent crisis, Naga People’s Front (NPF) President Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu today declared that NPF is now ‘disease-free party.”

“From now on we will be able to move forward with accurate mathematics,” said Shurhozelie in his presidential address at the NPF Central Executive Council (CEC) meeting at NPF Central Office, Kohima.

Any single step we gain we will start counting it to be permanent asset for us,” he said, adding that the NPF will move forward with full trust among the leaders.

Stating that the NPF will not criticize or blame other political parties, he said “We will only talk about ourselves and our principles towards defending the right and interest of the people of Nagaland.”

“Our number may be small now but with this ‘trust’ we can start climbing the ladder one step after another without having any doubt in our mind but trusting one another,” he said.

Shurhozelie said that the government may come and government may go, “but the party continue its journey continuously as along as its principles are found relevant to the given situation.”

Stating that many political parties in the country organized themselves without principle but for immediate gain of money and power, he said “Such political parties become short lived because they have no root. In Nagaland state, we have seen many such political parties, which came up from time to time but all disappeared again.”

As for NPF, he said, the party will continue its political journey to work and to assist in any possible manner on any approach for a peaceful solution of the Indo-Naga political issue.

Adopt motto ‘Work more and Talk less- Azo
NPF Legislature Party leader Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu said that a time has come for the NPF party to adopt a motto “Work more and Talk less.”

He said the more one talk it would provokes, hurts and create more enemies.

Azo said that what has happened in the party “is truly sad and bitter indeed, but come what may let us not recollect the bitter past and destroy the perfect future ahead of us.”

If we recollect the bitter past, we will be hurting ourselves and will not get time to work, he said.

Stating that the party is all set to work for a perfect future, he said “Let us not recollect the bitter past anymore.”

Azo challenged the party leaders to be broadminded and put heads together and work on “what is the welfare of the party and let that be the final law.”

Let the welfare of the party be the final law and not let “my welfare” be the final law, he said.

The dogs will bark, some passengers will leave the caravan but NPF caravan will move on till it reaches its destination, Azo added.
