Strongly condemning the vandalism, the family members of the victim asserted that the action of the congress workers is an act to take the life of the NPF Mokokchung division vice president. They asserted that such attack is completely uncalled for since the residence of Imtionen is not an election camp. Situation at Ungma village, after this incident, is reported to be tense but under control.
It is not clear whether an FIR has been lodged in this regard, but with just seven days before the polling day, situation in Aonglenden Assembly Constituency remains tricky. A security official disclosed that adequate security have been deployed for election purpose, but it is unclear how the elections will pass off, given the fact the Aonglenden A/C has a history of violence being created during elections in the past.
