NPF prints 1 lakh copies of leaflet on COVID-19

Naga People’s Front (NPF) has printed one lakh copies of leaflet on precautionary measures on the pandemic Covid-19.
NPF secretary general Achumbemo Kikon informed that this leaflet, featuring 11 points has been translated in all the local dialects and the same has been distributed to all the remote areas of the state. Kikon said the expenditure of the related awareness leaflet was borne by NPF legislators.
Addressing a press conference here today, Kikon said that the idea behind the printing of the leaflet which also includes English and Hindi, is to help strengthen the fight against Corona virus.
In this extraordinary situation, we want to assure the people of Nagaland that the party and leadership is with the people of Nagaland, said Kikon.
Urging the people not to be panic, Kikon also assured the government of Nagaland the support from the opposition NPF party to combat and prevent the outbreak of Covid-19.
“This is an extraordinary situation which demands the support and efforts from all of us,” he said, adding that NPF will cooperate with the government as and when required anything from the party.
NPF urges govt to install testing centre in Nagaland
Kikon reiterated the appeal of the NPF party to install a Covid- 19 testing centre in Nagaland.
The nearest testing centre for Nagaland is Guwahati at the moment, he said.
Financially speaking, even for transportation and distance point of view, it is very difficult for our people to go and avail the facility, he said and urged upon the government to expedite the setting up of testing centre in the state.
Regarding the imposition of 144 CrPC in Dimapur by the state government, he described it as a welcome step, adding that the measure is for the safety of everyone.
“However, it has to be judiciously implemented. It should not be put to harass the people,” Kikon said.
Expressing concern on those Naga people stranded outside the state of Nagaland, he said that there is a lot of report about racial discrimination on this issue.
In this, Kikon urged the state government to take necessary steps for the welfare of the people.
On reported shortage of masks and hand sanitizers and the sky rocketing price of the protective items, Kikon urged the government of the day to ensure that such things are properly monitored and make available to the public.
Meanwhile, the NPF called upon the citizens not to remain fear but appeal every Naga believers to uphold one another in prayers “so that Almighty God will save us from the pandemic Covid-19.”
