The NPF Youth Wing, Wokha Division, conducted a free medical camp-cum-Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) awareness and registration drive at three locations in Wokha district on August 5, 8 and 10.
The camps were held at Khumchoyan under 40 Assembly Constituency Bhandari, Lotsu under 39 Assembly Constituency Sanis, and Wozhuro under 38 Assembly Constituency Wokha.
Speaking to media persons, NPF Youth Wing Wokha Division president Amos Odyuo said the initiative was undertaken by the NPF Central Youth Wing and conducted simultaneously across all districts of Nagaland from August 1 to 10.
Seven doctors, including specialists in dental and gynaecology departments, participated in the camps. They were accompanied by representatives from the Nagaland Users’ Network, Link Workers’ Scheme Wokha, Mobile ICTC Wokha and CMHIS officials.
The medical camps offered free general health check-ups, HIV services, non-communicable disease (NCD) screening, CMHIS registration and card generation, besides counselling.
Odyuo acknowledged the support of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Medical Superintendent (MS), Wokha, as well as the village councils of the respective areas.
He informed that a total of 246 individuals availed free medicines and medical check-ups across the three locations, while 158 CMHIS registrations were successfully completed. However, some cases remained unresolved due to poor network connectivity and server-related issues.
Renchumo Khuvung, Chairman of Shaki village, expressed gratitude for the initiative on behalf of the Wozhuro circle. He appreciated the doctors, medical staff, NPF Central Youth Wing and NPF Youth Wing Wokha Division for conducting the camp and conveyed gratitude to Nagaland Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio for the programme conducted across the state.
