NPP Phek district inducts new members

Pfütsero, October 11 (MExN): The Phek District Executive Committee of the National People’s Party (NPP) Nagaland State held a coordination meeting at Pfütsero town on October 9, during which the newly appointed committee members were inducted. 

According to a press release from the NPP IPR & Media Cell, various party heads from the NPP Nagaland State Executive Committee attended the meeting where several matters were discussed. The matters ranged from the party’s stance and growth especially in the context of Phek district to long-term future oriented goals for the overall progress of NPP in Phek in particular and Nagaland in general. 

During the programme, NPP State President, Dr Andrew Ahoto Sema; former Minister and Advisor, NPP Nagaland State, Deo Nukhu; General Secretary (IPR & Media) Tohovi Achumi and General Secretary (Org) Limanuksung Longkumer addressed the gathering, the release stated.

The newly appointed district President, NPP Phek, Chubutse Naro also spoke briefly and called upon the members to strengthen the party at all levels. Naro expressed optimism that under the leadership of the current SEC officials, the NPP Nagaland State would progress to a whole new level.

According to the release, NPP Phek District Unit is the only unit of the party to create its own Kisan Cell for the welfare of the farmers of the district. This, it said, is being seen as a new and major precedent for the agriculturally rich district and its farmer community. The NPP Phek District Kisan Cell (District Kisan Wing) is led by Kelaveyi Sekhamo as its President and Taveyi Tenenu as the Vice President, it said.
