Through this esteemed daily I would like to bring to the notice of all the concerned public that we had paid the least attention towards the grievances of the NPSC aspirants who all had regularly highlighted their plight in the press from time to time in connection with the various discrepancies, errors in question papers, favoritism, nepotism and various other odd methods and practices of the NPSC. It should be noted that not all the grievances are untrue but many of the grievances holds weight and confirms to the extraordinary imperfection and lack of attention by the NPSC for rectification of its inherent error as well as its failure to adhere to a uniform standard of recruitment to various jobs. The NPSC which should be an independent and impartial body has failed on various grounds which need not be highlighted here as many of the aspirants had already highlighted their grievances which are known to all and in their grievances we also extend our sincere sympathy and full support towards the general cause.
It is ironical to note that when an independent body is alleged, it rather keeps mum instead of rectifying its errors as well as adhering to its monotonous standards which needs to be perfected. We can well understand the mental turmoil and the agony of those candidates who despite having the eligibility to be selected could not make through not by their own shortcomings but due to the inherent and un-rectified discrepancies. It is appreciable on the part of the Naga Students’ federation (NSF) to have taken up the cause of the aspirants of the NPSC as well as seeking to remedy the wrongs inherent in its functioning. But in this respect the general publics are silent. Today an aspirant unknown to some of us is being deprived by the NPSC’s way of functioning but tomorrow your own sons and daughters predictably will be the next victim(s). If we have this sole thought than unitedly we the general public and all the NGO’s and students organization can correct the NPSC under the banner of the NSF. Instead of sustaining the NSF some of us are still rather remaining calm and composed as if the struggles are the job of the NSF. Here we should note that if the NSF has taken up the cause of all the aspirants that it is solely for all the students community who will be competing in the NPSC in the near future and in the midst of all the students some or the other who knows may be, will be your children or relatives.'
It is more surprising to note that the NPSC is always in the news column because of its denial to pursue and adhere to a perfect standard of recruitment and examination and selection procedures. The chairman and the officials of the NPSC should be ashamed and seek resignation on their failure to create innovatively a perfect model of recruitment procedure where none can allege its shortcomings. It is high time the NPSC should energetically bring order and standard to its functioning and should imbibe the perfection achieved by the UPSC. Remember, it is never too late.
