CHUMOUKEDIMA, FEBRUARY 23 (MExN): A seminar and dental health camp focusing on oral health and the harmful effects of tobacco was held at the Nagaland Police Training School (NPTS) in Chumoukedima on Thursday. The event was organized by the National Oral Health Programme (NOHP) and the National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) Dimapur.
The Principal of NPTS, in her welcome address, expressed gratitude to the organizing team for conducting the seminar and urged all personnel and their families to take full advantage of the opportunity.
Dr N Moa Jamir, District Nodal Officer of NOHP and NTCP, delivered a presentation on “The Importance of Oral Health and the Ill Effects of Tobacco Consumption”. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, allowing participants to engage directly with health experts.
The camp also offered free oral cancer screenings, dental consultations, and tooth extractions. Attendees received free medication as part of the initiative.
Doctors Japheth Yepthomi, Imtiyala, and Kanovi Yephomi from District Hospital Dimapur, along with Medongunuo, a social worker with NTCP, participated in the camp, providing medical expertise and support throughout the event.
