He was addressing a technical session on National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) at Public Information Campaign organized by Press Information Bureau at Town Hall on March 24.

Dr. Kikon informed that the office of Chief Medical Officer of Dimapur already trained 100 Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) and an additional 90 ASHAs would be imparted special training in April.

It may be mentioned here that according to the timeline given in the NRHM document ASHAs should be in place by 2007 in all villages throughout the country.
