NSCN (IM), Dhansiripar Village Council react to raid

Dimapur, February 15 (MExN): The Dhansiripar Village Council (DVC) today said that the residence of one of its villager was allegedly raided by security forces without any valid reason February 10.

A combined Team of Assam Rifles (Camp Doyapur) including Assam Police and Black Panthers deployed at Dhansiri Police out post raid the house of Kishore Jeedung of Dhansiripar Village, informed a press release from DVC.

‘To our best knowledge, Jeedung have no involvement relating to any crimes or anti social elements in any matter,’ it said.

As neighbor, Dimasas of Nagaland and Karbi Anglong (Assam) have good relationship since the time immemorial, added the release.

Meanwhile, reacting to the raid, the NSCN (IM) alleged that targeting of NSCN by Assam Rifles (AR) “is becoming an eye sore of the Indo-Naga ceasefire.”

It further accused the AR of charging Jeedung, an Executive Member of the NSCN (IM) Steering Committee at Dhansiripar, with baseless “allegation of involvement in the recent DHD new and old DHD clashes in Assam.”

The DVC have testified that Jeedung is not a person to be involved in such criminal activities as they know him well from a close angle and had taken a strong exception to targeting for no reason, the MIP, NSCN (IM) stated in a press release.

Further, it accused the AR of “recklessly giving the stamp of identity as NSCN against any arrested anti-social elements” and maintained that such smear campaign been going on without any restraint. “Notwithstanding outright denial, the AR simply charged any person arrested as NSCN members and thereby put the NSCN in bad light,” it added.
