NSCN Khaplang condemns ‘anti-Naga activities’ at Tirap

Dimapur, August 5 (MExN): The NSCN Khaplang has condemned and accused what it termed as the “anti-Naga activities by IM gang at Tirap district”. A press note issued by the MIP, stated that “IM cadres who have intruded into Tirap district under the pretext of Naga National Movement survived on the noble donation of the Naga people in Tirap district, yet they continue their anti-Naga activities upon their donors (contributors)”. It also said that since Tirap and Changlang are the birth place of Naga Army of the two Naga districts; they have been stationed there comfortably with their own people.
The press note said that recent activities display “anti-peace and anti-reconciliation” and stated that the “IM, who are mostly blood thirstier keep on attacking People’s Army under the directions of the adversaries”. The NSCN Khaplang stated that on July 5, 2011 “the IM cadres attacked the Naga Army at Kabu village but Naga Army accurately repulsed back”. On July 11, 2011 the same group (IM) attacked Naga Army in two directions at New Kothing village but the “brave Naga army killed six of IM cadres led by Lieut. Athing and wounded 15 cadres more”. Again on July 29, 2011 “another attack came suddenly from IM group in two directions upon the Naga army stationed at Longleang village but alert Naga Army could manage to retaliate and killed one IM officer”.
The MIP note stated that the “IM has no issue in Tirap and Changlang when their leaders ruled out integration and sovereignty” and asked as to “why IM cadres are stationing in Tirap-Changlang”. The note also claimed that people of Tirap, particularly New Kothing village witnessed “anti people activities of the IM, where three leaders of the village had been beaten black and blue for sheltering Naga Army in the village and also imposing huge fine on the villagers for the ammunitions they have fired upon the Naga army”. It informed that the three village leaders “badly beaten up by IM gang are so serious and admitted in Dibrugarh hospital”. The note said that “IM should abandon anti-people activities and vacate Tirap and Changlang immediately”.
