NSCN Khaplang dismayed by AR raid

DIMAPUR, MARCH 17 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN Khaplang has expressed dismay over what it described as the “illegal raid” on its CFSB Office, Mon by AR on 16th March 2012 while the meeting was afoot in Delhi between the GOI representatives and NSCN members in connection to the ongoing cease fire.  The CFSB Mon has been functioning as per the agreed ceasefire ground rules (CFGR) and the purpose of the office is to supervise the implementation of ceasefire ground rules on the part of NSCN, stated a press note from the MIP.

It stated that the CFSB has been established to tackle whatever problems that arises in the process of enforcing the terms of ceasefire, “but when the Assam Rifles are given free hand to violate and dishonour the very authority/office that guarantees and oversees the existence and maintenance of CF between GOI and NSCN, which authority will then preserve the sanctity of ceasefire”.

Pointing out that the factional clashes and loss of lives and disruption to peace and tranquility though extremely unfortunate, the MIP note stated that the Assam Rifles or for the matter any Indian agencies have “nothing to do with it since, the fight is within the Naga family and not with GOI or her armed forces”.

It stated that “the uninvited interference or unnecessary meddle in the daily affairs of the Nagas by AR is creating more complications instead of restoring peace and normalcy” and henceforth the GOI without consulting the CFSB should not allow AR to take law into their hands. “Both the GOI and NSCN should uphold the mutual ceasefire agreement and ensure that their respective forces adhere to CFGR impartially”, the MIP note stated.
