NSCN (R) against dealing with expelled members

DIMAPUR, MARCH 16 (MExN): The NSCN (R) issued a press release today reiterating earlier public statements advising “all concerned” to refrain from dealing with its expelled members.

The release issued by its Ministry of Information & Publicity (MIP) recalled an ‘Extraordinary Emergency Joint Council Meeting’ held on August 28, 2019 to discuss a situation arising from the killing of Major Toishe of the NSCN (IM). At the meeting, it was unanimously resolved to expel its then Kilonser Khekato Kinny for his alleged involvement in the killing.

While maintaining that the decision “still stands firm and in no way revoked” as released to the media on September 13, 2019, it further reminded that a “cautionary note,” in this connection, advising against associating with “ousted elements” was issued and published in the newspapers on July 8, 2020. The note warned that found doing so would attract penalty as per NSCN “Ahza.”

As decided and made known publicly, it said that any decision taken by Joint Council “is final and binding and if any further decisions has to be decided and resolved, will be the prerogative of the Joint council only, on the advice of the Collective Leadership.”

It further refuted a press statement, which appeared in the month of February, informing of the expulsion of six members and appointment of Kinny as Finance Kilonser, while terming it as the handiwork of some “disgruntled drifters.” On the contrary, it maintained that TG (Tokato) Achumi is still holding charge of ‘Chaplee Affairs.’

It also stated that the statements “may also reflect the Clarification sought by the… Dimapur Yemishe Union and Dimapur Lizuto Union” that appeared in the newspapers appealing the NSCN(R) to clarify its position on Kinny, “who claimed that his termination is revoked.”

“If perchance the Yemishe, or Lizuto or the NSCN (IM) wants to reconcile with Khekato (Kinny), the NSCN (R) has nothing to do with it,” it said.

It reaffirmed that if any “decision has to be decided against Khekato (Kinny), it will be done only through the Joint Council, and no other claims shall be entertained whatsoever.”
