NSCN (R) extends Ahuna greetings

Dimapur, November 12 (MExN): The NSCN (R) today extended 'Ahuna Greetings' to the Sumi Nagas.

'Ahuna is a 'Post Harvest Festival' of the Sumi community, usually celebrated during the 2nd week of November (14th), with great pomp and gaiety, exhuberance and ebullient blendings, it said.

One of the main highlight of the Ahuna is to 'Cook Freshly Harvested Rice in Bamboos' followed by feastings, folk dances and other Cultural activities, it added.

However, the NSCN (R) noted that while large gatherings will not take place following precautionary measures associated with COVID 19, it expressed hope that “through this festivity, the Sumi brothers and sisters will continue to shine in all spheres, and to usher into the new era of 'Peace, Oneness and Solidarity' so as to dwell in 'Prosperity and Good Tidings.”
