Dimapur, October 3 (MExN): The Zeliangrong region NSCN/GPRN issued an order for ban of hunting in Peren District, extending to all Zeliangrong areas within and beyond Peren District w.e.f October 1, 2010 until further notice.
The order notified from the desk of its Chief Administrative Officer, Zeliangrong Region; NSCN/GPRN I. Hau stated “Appreciating and following the DC’s order in the gesture of cooperation and sensing the need of an hour to safe guard the eco balance and wild life in the area.” The order stated that hunting of wild animals or birds big or small is banned by NSCN/GPRN (ZLR Region) and termed it as a crime, the order inform all village leaders to be watchful in protecting the precious flora & fauna which some of the species are gravely reaching to its extinction unless preserved and protected in true word and in spirit immediately.
The order also warned the individuals, group, and village community providing shelter, supporting, organizing, dealing or whatsoever in connection with hunting will face the same fate with the accomplisher sternly in most serious manner. The CAO also requested all levels to play respective roles for the cause and bring noticeable change within these short periods of time and restore the natural system in our present artificial world.
