Dimapur, June 25 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) condemns the June 10 abduction of two persons by the militant Karbi People Liberation Tigers (KPLT). The NSF has appealed to the group to unconditionally release the two persons, both laborers, namely Kelesel Kikhi and Khroviho Kikhi.
The NSF issued a note today stating that the undergrounds continue to intimidate the innocent public when the NE States are trying to “raise a common and united voice against the discrimination and negligence to the people of the region.”
“It is unbecoming and unacceptable on the part of the national workers to intimidate innocent public and create unnecessary anxiety and fear psychosis amongst the general public. The federation therefore calls upon the people of northeastern states to unitedly raise their voice against such inhuman practices in the region,” the NSF note from assistant general secretary Tongpang Ozukum and secretary Krelo stated.
The NSF also denounced what it described as “the barbaric act of drugging” two Naga youth from Phesama village and subsequently robbing them of their belongings on June 20 near Makhan in Manipur state.
“The federation fails to understand the motives behind this shocking incident as to why and how such inhuman act can be meted to a fellow human being,” the note stated. The federation has urged the law-enforcing agencies to leave no stone unturned to nab the culprits at the earliest and punish them “so that such incident does not occur in future.”
