NSLSA launches 90-day ‘Mediation for the Nation 2.0’ campaign in Nagaland

Kohima, February 15 (MExN): The Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) has launched the 90-day ‘Mediation for the Nation 2.0’ campaign as part of a nationwide special mediation drive initiated by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) in association with the Mediation & Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC), Supreme Court of India.

The initiative has been conceptualised under the guidance of the Chief Justice of India and Justice Surya Kant, Judge, Supreme Court of India, who is also the Executive Chairman of NALSA and Chairman of MCPC.

Following the successful implementation of the version 1.0 in 2025, the second edition aims to intensively settle pending cases across Taluk Courts, District Courts and High Courts through mediation over a 90-day period, he NSLSA informed in a press release.

According to mediation data from the previous campaign, the NSLSA successfully facilitated amicable settlements in 90 out of 397 cases referred by the District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) and the High Court Legal Services Committee (HCLSC) in Nagaland, it said. 

For the second edition, NSLSA, as per the directions of the National Legal Services Authority, has informed all the DLSAs in the State to conduct a 90-day mediation drive to settle pending cases.

It further stated that cases that may be referred for mediation during the campaign include matrimonial disputes, motor accident claims, domestic violence cases, cheque bounce cases, commercial disputes, service matters, compoundable criminal cases, consumer disputes, partition cases, eviction matters, land acquisition cases and other suitable civil cases.

NSLSA has urged advocates, litigants and members of the public to avail themselves of the opportunity and refer eligible cases for mediation under the campaign.
