Dimapur, March 20 (MExN): The importance  of digital finance and literacy, among others, were emphasised during a 4-day district level trainers (DLT) training on financial inclusion which concluded on March 19.

The Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) organised training was attended 33 trainees from 11 districts comprising of District Coordinators (DCFI), Area Coordinators (ACFI) and SHG members, who are designated as Financial Literacy Community Resource Persons (FLCRP).

Speaking at the event, Abinash Hembrom, AGM SBI RBO Dimapur and Convenor SLBC, on the importance of digital finance and encouraged the trainees to opt for banking through cashless transactions by using mobile, internet etc. 

He also asked the trainees to feel free to share any grievances faced by the public in various bank branches be it SBI or other bank branches, informed a  press release from NSRLM State Program Manager- Financial Inclusion. Hembrom further  assured his fullest support and cooperation for scaling bank linkage to women SHGs, it said. 

Stating that NSRLM has become very important agency in the present SHG movement in the country, HC Biswas AGM NABARD RO Dimapur maintained that NABARD and NSRLM can bring great stride in uplifting the economy of the State by working together.

Various product available with the NSCB was also shared by Joshua Swu, Branch Manager ,Dimapur Main branch and President of Nagaland Sate Cooperative Bank Employees Union.

Lanusosang Jamir, State Head, Common Service Centre (CSC), I&T Department who was the resource person attended the training alongwith  State Project Manager (CSC) M. Tonkai Konyak, State Project Manager (CSC) and highlighted on programmes and schemes available through CSC services in the country.

The CSC has so far distributed 70 Finger print (Morpho) device free of cost to SHG members to enable them to do transaction as digipay Sakhis in villages, he informed.
