DIMAPUR, March 15 (MExN): The National Service Scheme Cell of the Pranabananda Women's College carried out an awareness drive under the theme ‘a week dedicated to society,’ with the aim to promote COVID appropriate behavior.
According to a press release from the PWC Principal Dr Santosh Kumar on Monday, the drive was conducted to remind citizens that the pandemic is still among us and to encourage them to follow the SOPs given by the Government now that different establishments/institutions have reopened.
The NSS volunteers visited different schools within Dimapur town and donated masks, sanitizers and posters highlighting the Do’s and Don’ts of COVID-19. They also put up banners at the main town junction of Dimapur town and in various colonies especially near schools with the posters highlighting the SOPs for schools, the release stated.
Continuing with the theme, the volunteers also visited families affected by the fire which broke out at Signal Bosti bazaar area on February 25 and donated groceries and household utilities.
The release also stated that the team, on March 8, distributed hampers to the women traffic personnel at different junctions within Dimapur town to mark International Women’s Day.
To conclude the week dedicated to society, the NSS volunteers visited Zion School located at Kacharigaon Phevima and donated books, stationeries, masks, sanitizers and posters of COVID-19, the release stated.
