NST drivers to don uniform soon

Dimapur: Another special fellowship service of Dimapur Nagaland State Transport staff was held today at the NST station premises with speaker Imti John, Christian Reformation Ministry of Nagaland and gracing the service was Achum Ngullie, IAS Secretary TPT & Communication Nagaland. NST officials and staff led by the General Manager along with family members attended and revived in the first NST fellowship for this year. Viewed as one of the biggest enforcement department in Nagaland, NST staff has come forward and initiated the service since November last to rededicate and indulge in the Almighty’s hands for a strong standing department.

The speaker highlighting on the Naga independent issue emphasized that for any reformative development only the wisdom of God will bring solution and without that appraisal in mind, no greater force can work miracles. He strongly stressed on the values of truth and sincerity and to respect and love each other without hypocrisy. Terming that Christian reformation is the Christian’s politics which includes clean and sincere reformations; he strongly called out to drive away from improper ‘transparency’ controlling the society. “Department transformation is the need of the hour”, he said, adding that through the NST fellowship let it be an example for other departments to initiate such programme. He also suggested that a collective seminar of NST department should be held to communicate with every staff and discuss grievances and objectives. To which, the Secretary gave a green signal even if the department has to suspend or reduce its services.

Earlier, Achum Ngullie delivered a short speech encouraging the staff members to participate more in the fellowship. He rued that the year 2005 was not a very good year however; the new year 2006 should start with God’s guidance and with a sense of self-responsibility. “Three major accidents took place in 2005 and on prolonged inquiry and assessment, the fault points towards us (department) including me”, he said. He informed that 14 drivers were suspended, 7 terminated and some issued forced retirement which the government had no choice but to execute it. Not holding anyone responsible for any mishaps, the Secretary said that the fellowship was held not only for the drivers but the entire staff to continue in teamwork and bringing revival to their services through God’s love.  

After the service, the Secretary while talking to the staff and member assured that the uniform for drivers’ proposal will be viewed and implemented very soon besides releasing other proposals made before the financial year. He mused on issuing uniform with the State logo with the department’s name and identity of the staff. 

The NST General Manager also spoke on the occasion while Station Supdt. K. Kepen welcomed the gathering. Special numbers were presented by Reformation singers while the service was invoked by Talirenba, TE. Kuputo Sumi, TE chaired the service, vote of thanks delivered by Burmayang and scripture was read out by Limayangla, LDA.
