An enforcement drive on sale of tobacco products within 100 yards of educational institutions was carried out under National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) Mon on February 1 at Mon Town. The team consisted of members from District Administration, Excise Department, Mon Town Council and Police personnel. The team was led by District Nodal officer NTCP-Mon, Dr I Simon Sumi. The drive was conducted to ensure the proper implementation of COTPA 2003. A total of 34 shops were found selling tobacco products near educational institutions. The team seized the products and destroyed the items at the outskirts of the town. (DIPR Photo)
