Dimapur, January 27 (MExN): The Nagaland Tool Room & Training Centre (NTTC), Dimapur, and Cyient Foundation, Hyderabad, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen skill development and employability initiatives for youth in Nagaland.
The MoU was signed at the Cyient Foundation Head Office in Hyderabad by P Tokugha Sema, Director of Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland and Chief Executive Officer ofNTTC, and Krishna Mohan Deevi, Senior Director and Head–CSR of Cyient Foundation.
Under the partnership, Cyient Foundation will provide support through knowledge partnership, technical expertise and implementation guidance, while NTTC will serve as the on-ground training and execution partner, leveraging its existing infrastructure and experience in vocational and technical education.
According to a press release from the NTTC, the collaboration aims to enhance the centre’s institutional capacity through technology-enabled, industry-relevant and future-oriented training programmes.
Key focus areas include vocational and technical skill development, exposure to emerging technologies, capacity building of trainers and employability-oriented skilling aligned with industry requirements.
As part of the engagement, a Nagaland delegation led by Sema visited several Cyient facilities, including the Design-Led Manufacturing plant, Cyient Urban Micro Skill Centre and the Cyient Experience Centre.
The delegation also visited Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, where interactions were held at the Technology Incubation Park, Technology Research Park and TIHAN (Technology Innovation Hub on Autonomous Navigation).
The delegation further held meetings with NGOs and corporate foundations to explore potential partnerships and funding collaborations aimed at strengthening NTTC’s infrastructure, institutional sustainability and inclusive skill development initiatives.
The agreement, the release stated, marks a significant step towards fostering industry–institution collaboration and reflects a shared commitment to equipping youth with future-ready skills to enhance employment opportunities and support Nagaland’s long-term socio-economic development. The release, however. did not specify the date on which the MoU was signed.
