Wokha, July 31 (MExN): A team from the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), Directorate of Health & Family Welfare (DoHFW), Nagaland conducted a three-day monitoring and supervision exercise in Wokha district from July 29 to 31 in coordination with district health officials.
The team was led by Dr Imnapokim, State Programme Officer and Joint Director, NVBDCP, DoHFW, and Dr Imkongtemsu, State Programme Officer for the Universal Immunization Programme (UIP) and Joint Director, Immunization. During the visit, supportive supervision was carried out at Sub-Centres, Health and Wellness Centres, Primary Health Centres, Community Health Centres and the District Hospital, Wokha.
As part of the programme, the team also held stakeholder engagement meetings on vector-borne diseases. On July 30, a sensitisation programme at Bhandari Town Hall brought together more than 70 stakeholders. The keynote address was delivered by Extra Assistant Commissioner, Bhandari, Kilangtemsu.
On July 31, the team convened a district review meeting at the Conference Hall of the Chief Medical Officer's Office, followed by a sensitisation meeting with stakeholders at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Wokha, K Mhathung Tsanglao.
More than 40 participants, including Wokha Town Council councillors and colony chairmen, attended the meeting. Discussions focused on promoting the regular use of Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs), strengthening disease surveillance and eliminating mosquito breeding sites.
The monitoring and supervision team also included State NVBDCP consultants, a State laboratory technician and an insect collector.
