NYKS Nagaland attends national launching of Student Police Cadet

Kohima, August 2 (MExN): Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), Nagaland in coordination with Department of Education participated in the national roll out of Student Police Cadet (SPC) programme on July 21 at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Gurgaon under the aegis of Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

The Students Police Cadet was officially launched at national level by the Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh in the presence of Human Resources Development Minister Prakash Javadekar and Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister of Haryana, informed a press release from Pukil Kintso, Escorting Official (SPC), NYKS. A new scheme with ‘Empathy, Discipline, Integrity’ as its motto, SPC aims to build a bridge between the police and young students by educating them on crime prevention and ethics through classes in school and outdoor activities, the release said. It also aims to aid a comprehensive development of personality and inculcate values of patriotism and services by contributing to police forces and help everyone with dedicated services for the society. 20 boys and girls of Class VIII students of Government High School, Kigwema along with Pukil Kintso, Mesehol Khweho and Viseno Yakhro as Escorting officials participated in the mega national programme.

The team also visited Taj Mahal, Agra and historical places in Delhi as a special package of educational tour sponsored by the Home Department, Nagaland.
