Dimapur, May 26 (MExN): The District Tobacco Control Cell Dimapur has reminded all the institutions in Dimapur districts in general and tobacco free schools and colleges in particular to do some activities on May 31 to mark World No Tobacco Day (WNTD).
The theme for this year WNTD is “Tobacco and Heart Diseases" reflecting the increasing trend of the incidence of cardio-vascular diseases attributing to Tobacco use, DTCC Dimapur informed in a press note.
The DTCC will provide certificates for competition to be conducted on that day and if the institutions require resource persons, the same may be communicated to DTCC by May 29, it said.
Meanwhile, it informed that the official function will be held in Green Wood Higher Secondary School from 10:30 AM onwards where there will be a spot poster/painting competition on the theme.
Each school can send two students and cash prize will be awarded to the three winners. The competition will start at 9:30 AM sharp in the same school, the DTCC informed.
