The three yearlong ‘Tetsu Oshi Tetoktepba’, a competition focused at promoting and preserving mother tongue, organized by the Ongpangkong Student’s Conference (OKM) concluded on January 5 at Town Hall, Mokokchung.
The final round of the three-yearlong competition concluded with top ten competitors competing in a folklore narrating competition. The final event was organized with Chubawati Longchar, President, Ao Senden as the guest of honour.
Wangshimenla of Longmisa Student’s Union was declared the winner of the competition while Manenjungla and Lanukokla both from Chuchuyimpang Student’s Union were declared the first and second runner up respectively. The winners received cash prize and certificates from the organizers.
Chubawati Longchar, President, Ao Senden and Nungtokyanger, President, Ao Student’s Conference spoke on the occasion. Talitemsu, President, OKM conveyed a note of gratitude at the event while, AsoImsong, Convenor, OKM TOT, expressed the importance of mother tongue and thanked everyone for the support given throughout the years.
