One arrested for robbery in Kohima, another absconding

KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 24 (MExN): One person was arrested and another is absconding with regard to a robbery incident which occurred in Kohima on September 20. 

A press release from the DEF, PRO, Kohima said that on September 20, information was received at North Police Station about a case of broad daylight robbery at gun point by unknown masked miscreants of Rs 5 Lakhs from the vehicle of a doctor near SBI Main Branch. 

At the time of the incident, the driver was inside the vehicle and the doctor was attending to his personal works in a nearby shop, the police said.  

“Accordingly, officers of North Police Station swung into action and based on the evidence collected, the case was cracked in less than 24 hours of receiving report,” it added. 

Two persons identified as Lhoulietuo Kire (50 years) and Zelhoulie Kets (51 years) were identified and ascertained to have been complicit in the crime. 

One of the accused persons, Lhoulietuo Kire, was arrested on the night of September 21 from Gariphema Bawe village and an amount of Rs 2,50,000 was recovered from his possession. The other accused person namely Zelhoulie Kets is still absconding and the police have launched a manhunt to arrest him and recover the remaining amount. 

In this connection, a case has been registered at North Police Station for further investigation.
