Phek Town | September 16 : In an unexpected incident a truck moving down towards Phek Town met with an accident at the traffic point of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Phek this morning here at Phek Town at around 9.50.AM. It was reported that one lady died on reaching the hospital. Talking the Morung Express, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) Phek Police station informed that the truck belonged to one person from Losami Village. The truck was engaged in transporting stones to the town from Surhoba Village area. The truck reportedly crushed and overran a stationary Van parked somewhere near DC traffic point following mechanical failure.
It was reported that the lady victim haling from Ketsapo village was travelling in the truck and had jumped from the moving vehicle and hit her head on the ground and succumbed to injury as she reached the District Hospital. The sources further disclosed that there were 7 occupants including the driver in the truck. The driver of the truck was forwarded to the police and was under police custody.
