Duncan Basti Dimapur is a posh residential area. In any city elsewhere there is no factory uptown. But ironically there is a tile cum steel/iron fabrication factory causing sever noise pollution, energy crisis and an unbecoming appearance to the said neighbourhood. Children cannot study because of machines shrieking, hammering sounds and severe power fluctuations from pre-dawn hours till night except on Sundays. They also affect electronic and household gadgets, resulting in heavy financial damage. Power fluctuation is also hazardous for eye sight.
The welfare of the neighbourhood should not be sacrificed on the altar of a selfish business enterprise. Therefore the above-mentioned authorities must immediately relocate the said factory to a non-residential area. If factory owners refuse to shift, the authorities must shut it down. This letter is seeking justice. Justice delayed is justice denied. Previous complaints have yielded no result. Let no public enemy thrive.
