Open letter to the GMTD, BSNL

I on behalf of the general public of Zunheboto would like to bring to your notice the following facts relating to the Telephone Communications in Zunheboto District. The Telephone services both land line and Cellone, in Zunheboto District is just a show only. Fixed line services went out of order by October 11 2005 due to lightning, but it is a surprise, that the BSNL could not install lightning arrester in a lightning prone area like Zunheboto. Mobile services too went out of order simultaneously and remained so for about 10 days after which the network has been on and off till today. The Department is never bothered to tend to the welfare of the public. In fact they simply neglect their responsibility to serve the people by providing an uninterrupted service. It is astonishing that the telecom department is unable to restore the fault which went out of order on October 11 2005 till date. It was learnt that the department was out of stock for the so called LCC Card for which restoration was delayed, but 20 days since the fault occurred and still not able to procure the same is just absurd; the dept is just taking people for a ride.

Your authority is requested to intervene for restoration of services at least by November 10. In the event of failure to restore even 30 days of breakdown; should any unwanted situation is developed by irate subscribers; the company should own the responsibilities.
