
Dimapur, May 4 (MExN): The Dimapur Municipal Council Dimapur, on May 4, has directed butchers practicing open sales of their products to relocate to shops with provision for hygienic environment, free from dust and flies and clear running water in 15 days time.
In an order, the DMC Administrator Albert Ezung also informed that a joint drive would also be conducted and defaulters shall be penalised as per relevant Act without further notice. As per a meeting held on May 2 between the DMC Veterinary Public Health Cell and representatives of the GB's Union (Sardar) as well as the Dimapur Urban Council Chairman Federation (DUCCF) under Dimapur Municipalities, all the colonies are once again informed to ban “all slaughtering/processing of meat animals meant for human consumption and sale of meat in open air (roadside) or unhygienic environment,” it added.
