Dimapur, April 18 (MExN): An organization in Dimapur has cautioned parents and students to watch out for a number of persons who are reportedly going around the state promising admission into “China medical college” and other institutions. The India Northeast Tribal Community Welfare Society in Dimapur issued a letter today cautioning parents and students to be wary of the conmen who according to the organization are currently targeting Dimapur, Kohima and Manipur.
The organization said to have encountered a person from Andhra Pradesh who allegedly goes about with various designations such as ‘admission agent’ of “Phillipines and China Medical College” and various other nursing colleges. Further, he is also introducing himself as a “pastor,” the organization said. The letter was appended by the India Northeast Tribal Community Welfare Society’s chairman Atsei.
“He was trying to dupe students into admission for MBBS course at very cheap rate and false information and is trying to search .partners through some travel agents, coaching centers, schools, PCO, agencies etc.
He claims to be direct representative of Phillipines and China Medical College,” the India Northeast Tribal Community Welfare Society informed. On being queried, the letter said, the person was unable to produce and valid and proper documents of the institutions he claim to tout for or represent.
“He assured the society members that he will not repeat this mistake again,” the organization said. Further, the India Northeast Tribal Community Welfare Society issued a similar caution for parents and students about an engineering institute in Salem, Tamil Nadu that is allegedly trying to dupe students by touting self-styled entrance examinations and even selling invalid forms priced at Rs. 350 when there are no exams being conducted. Both the parties are targeting Dimapur, Kohima and Manipur, the organization said.
“The society advises parents and students not to be carried away by agencies that are mostly three-four parties and have not seen the institutes,” the letter said and encourage the citizens to be cautious especially during the season of admissions.
