Oriental College Kohima launches yearlong silver jubilee celebration

The yearlong Silver Jubilee celebration of Oriental College, Kohima was formally launched by Angami Christian Revival Church Council (ACRCC) former Executive Secretary, Rev Dr Putsato Naleo at the college premises.

Speaking on the occasion, Rev Dr Naleo said education is the most important aspect of life as power and civilization come through proper knowledge. Expressing that the world is polluted with evil, he said through education one should be able to differentiate between the right and wrong.

Delivering welcome address, Oriental College, Principal Dr Ketshukietuo Dzüvichü highlighted the history of the college which was started in June 2017 by the Christian Revival Church of Kohima village on a mission mode.

The College has Higher Secondary and Degree courses in Arts and Commerce streams and currently there are nearly 500 students.

Jubilee Organising Committee Convenor, Mhalezolie Kire informed about the various activities to be taken up during the yearlong celebration of the 25 years of the college. The grand finale is scheduled for November.

The programme was chaired by Akhrieno Yhor while vote of thanks was proposed by Oriental College, Vice Principal, Dr Gopal Basnet.
