Orientation and review meeting of MPCDSR & RMNCAH+N held in Mon

Chief Medical Officer, Dr Supongmenla Walling and others during the district level orientation cum review meeting on MPCDSR & RMNCAH+N programme held in Mon on August 8.

MON, AUGUST 8 (MExN): A one day district level orientation cum review meeting on ‘Maternal perinatal child death surveillance and response’ (MPCDSR) & ‘Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child Adolescent Health and Nutrition’ (RMNCAH+N) programme was held on August 8 at District Hospital conference hall, Mon. 

A press release issued by Medical Officer NHM Mon, Leeyan Chemsy said the Chief Medical Officer, Dr Supongmenla Walling urged for team work to achieve the set goals for the people of Mon.

Dr Wungyong Konyak, DPO (RCH&UIP), examined the state and district’s main performance indicators in maternal and child health. He delivered a detailed presentation on each and every important indication, numerically outlining which and where to improve inside each block. 

He also noted that measles outbreaks have recently been recorded, and the district has promptly deployed a rapid response team.

Towards this, he urged block in-charges to monitor and track the immunization status of their local health units.

Later, BPM of Mon, Pongchai Konyak; BPM of Wakching Shoiang Konyak; BPM Phomching Seyievicha; BPM Tizit Vitsielhoulie and BPM Aboi Tinglak Konyak presented their respective block performance on key indicators. 

School Health Coordinator, H Mewang Konyak also highlighted on activities of RBSK, National Deworming Day, and peer education while stressing on weekly Iron folic supplementation programme. 

In the open interaction session, discussions on low performing health units were taken up by DPO (RCH&UIP) and DPM. Advice, encouragement and correction at their level were put forth.   The meeting was attended by Medical Officers, Community Health Officers, ANMs and BPMs of all the blocks.
