Orientation on MKSP for NSRLM staff underway

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 8 (MExN): A four-day programme on orientation of district and block staff on sub-program under NRLM Mahila Kissan Sashaktikaran Pariyojana (MKSP) is underway at AIDA, DB Tech, Dimapur from August 7 to 10.   MKSP is a sub-component of DAY-NRLM which seeks to improve the present status of women in agriculture, and to enhance the opportunities available to empower them.  

A press note stated that the objective of the program is to prepare a training module for the Community Service Providers and come out with Package of Practices for the SHG members involved in agriculture and livestock practices as means of livelihoods. The Program aims at reducing drudgery for women farmers, reducing their input costs and improving their productivity in a sustainable manner.  

State Mission Director, NSRLM, emphasised on the need for concerted effort in bringing about change in current farming practices. She encouraged the participants to work with dedication towards improving the livelihoods of the rural poor.
