Zunheboto, August 8 (MExN): A 1-day orientation programme on operation of pharmacy was held with the proprietors and sales personnel of pharmacies in Zunheboto town at ART Centre, District Hospital on August 3.
The programme was conducted with regard to legal matters as per Drug & Cosmetic Act, 1940 and rules 195, offences and penalties under Drug & Cosmetic Act, 1940 and Rules 1945, a press release from Shekho Sophie, District Media Officer, CMO stated.
Lutovi Phucho, Drug Inspector, CMO Office, Zunheboto who was the resource person briefed on the license, functions and operations of pharmacy.
The resource person elaborated on proper documentation of files, register, receipt book in pharmacy and maintenance of Schedule H1 drugs and responsibilities. He further emphasized on procurement of drugs and medicines from licensed wholesalers and suppliers and highlighted about information on expired drugs and disposal, the release said.
Proper storage of vaccines, sera, toxoids, thermolabile drugs and sale of restricted drugs were also sensitized during the orientation meet.
