Kohima, December 28 (MExN): The 40th general session of the Razeba Students Union (RSU) was held at Razeba Town under the theme “Empowering leadership through education” on December 28.
The session was graced by Modovi Rhi, President, Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) as the special guest.
Addressing the session Rhi stressed on the importance of putting God first in everything, and the importance of understanding parents’ sacrifices for their children’s education and welfare. He appealed the students to honour and obey their parents and seek their blessings “because without the blessings of parents, nothing would prosper.”
Rhi told the teachers or educators to not only limit themselves to classrooms but also educate their students beyond and be a role model as “our future depends on education.” Schools should not be an employment sectors but it should be a human resources development sector, he said.
As education serves as a preserver and transmitter of cultural heritage, the students fraternity should preserve the traditional knowledge and practices while promoting cultural diversity in the society, he said.
Further, he challenged the Razeba range community to build together and foster the spirit of unity.
By embracing the spirit of working together despite our political affiliations, let politics not bring disunity among us as unity is vital for social harmony and community development and not take politics personally, he said.
We must strive to transcend the divisions that bring disunity and seek common ground to foster the spirit of cooperation and unity among students community and people of Razeba Range, Rhi said.
‘Give your best in competitive exams’
Also exhorting the students, Razeba Public Organisation (RPO) President, Deo Movi encouraged them to give their best effort in whatever field they pursue.
He further challenged the students to give their best in competitive exams as Razeba range community are yet to have any IAS, IPS and even in state level competitive exams of having EAC or DSP.
Delivering solidarity message, Poumai Naga Tsüdoumai Me (PNTM) general secretary J. Pangao stressed on the need to strengthen unity and the spirit of brotherhood.

The program was chaired by Visapa Movi and compered by Dangao Rume & Vane Zholia.
Presidential address was delivered by RSU president Paosü Shupao, followed by meritorious award and general secretary report from Lesou Rhi.
Rev. Akha Shupao, pastor, Zhavame Baptist Church pronounced the act of blessing for the new team of RSU while closing remarks was given by Sarelü Rume, treasurer RSU.
