Officials with participants of SVEEP campaign at Pfutsero on November 26

Kohima, November 26 (MExN): The Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign was organized by the office of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pfutsero in collaboration with Pfutsero Government College (PGC) on November 26.
Delivering a short speech, Japheth Woch, ADC, Pfutsero, urged the students to become responsible citizens and participate in the electoral process by getting enrolled in the E- roll.
The programme was chaired by Vithwel Kweho, EAC while welcome address was delivered by Dr Bweyhunle Khing, Principal, PGC.
‘My role as a young voter’ was shared by Kethozo Nakro while Depe-u Vero presented a special number. Velakho Sekhamo, BLO who served as Booth Level Officer (BLO) for five years shared his experiences. He stressed on assisting local citizens to become an informed voter, update electoral roll and report to supervisors in the Election Branch. He urged the students to value one’s vote “because our vote is our identity.”
Nine students participated in the speech competition title ‘Greater participation for stronger democracy.
Metshelo-ü Mero of BA 5th Semester bagged the first position. Vienite Chiezou of BA 5th semester and Menyie-u Nuh of BA 1st semester stood 2nd and 3rd position respectively. The panel of judges for the speech competition included; Zunyite-u Mero, Asst. Professor, PGC, Isaac Shupao, Assistant Professor PGC and Grace Semp, Assistant Professor, PGC.
