Kohima, February 1(MExN): On the occasion of the National Road Safety month, a seminar on road safety organised by the Noklak Police was held at Thang Old Council Hall, Noklak village, under the theme, 'Sadak Suraksha-Jeevan Raksha'.
With the newly created Noklak district, the Noklak DEF police unit is also a newly created unit which gave awareness on traffic etiquette and rules as part of the Road Safety month (January 18-February 17). The programme was attended by over 200 drivers of Noklak district.
Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of Police, Noklak, Dr. Pritpal Kaur, IPS explained on the three arms of driving - driver, machine and road and bridges, besides elaborating on driving license, registration, insurance, emissions test certificate, avoiding mobile and alcohol usage and sense of humanity. In case of Transport vehicles, certificate of fitness and all necessary permits should properly maintained, maintained the SP.
Sign, Symbols and traffic rules, regulations and punishment under IPC and MV Act were explained to the trainees. Demonstration on first aid responses were taught to the trainees to help them save lives whenever any accidents happen until medical help reaches.
Short speeches were delivered by TRPO President, Hangthing and President Frontier Royal Enfield RE enbloc, Changkamba Chang who emphasized on safe driving.
ASI S Phee, Noklak police spoke on Motor Vehicle Act, while J Khumong, Project Manager TI project, Noklak, spoke on awareness of HIV & AIDS and other diseases.
A free Medical and dental Camp for drivers was also held at the venue by 45th Assam Rifles and CHC Noklak.
Later, SP Noklak flagged off the Bikers Club rally of Frontier Royal Enfield RE enbloc.
