Zunheboto, October 3 (MExN): As part of the Ayushman Bhavah campaign, District Health Society Zunheboto organised a weekly health mela at Community Health Centre Aghunato, Zunheboto on October 1.

The primary focus of the health mela was the screening of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as hypertension and diabetes, stated a press release. During the mela, a total of 25 ABHA/CMHIS ID cards were issued to beneficiaries. A total of 365 beneficiaries sought medical attention from various health services including NCD screening-73, dental-61, Ayush-50, ENT-60, Eye-85, Immunization-5, ANC-3, minor surgery-7, Lab test malaria -24, Widal-24, AFB-10, HIV-36, UPT-2. 

The team including Dr K Akaho Sema, MD (Medicine), Dr Heroto SMO Aghunato, Dr Kanato ENT, Dr Visheto (Ayush), Dr Kipito MO, Dr Abolu MO, Dr Tokaito MO, Dr Achem (Dental), Yanger, Opthalmic Assistant and nurses rendered their services to the local community.

Other health services such as laboratory facilities and screening of HIV, Syphilis and Hepatitis, malaria, dengue and Tuberculosis were made available during the mela.

Under Aapke Dwar 3.0, on-spot creation and registration of ABHA ID cards/CMHIS service were also provided to facilitate equitable access to high-quality healthcare services for eligible beneficiaries. Free medicines and eye spectacles were also distributed to the general public.

Earlier, Dr Kipito Awomi, Medical Officer, CHC Aghunato in the keynote address emphasised that Ayushman Bhavah is a nationwide campaign launched by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare which aim to ensure the optimal delivery of health schemes to every beneficiary belonging to the economically weaker sections of the society across the Nation.

The District Programme Officials of various vertical programmes delivered a short health talk and brief the participants about the activities to be carried out. “A pledge was also taken by all the participants on organ donation during the programme,” the release stated.
