Dimapur, June 17 (MExN): P. Vizheto Tuccu village was officially inaugurated on June 15 in the village ground. Established in January 2014, the village was recognized by the government on December 18, 2017, informed a press release received here.
The Commissioner of Nagaland, M Patton (IAS) unveiled the monolith and declared the recognition of the village by presenting the village chieftain shawl to the village chief, P. Vizheto Tuccu.
Patton congratulated the people of the village on behalf of the government, saying it was a red letter day for the entire populace of the village.
He called upon them to nurture the village together in all developmental aspects and also maintain peace and harmony among them and with neighboring villages as well.
Sharing a brief history of the establishment of the village, P. Vizheto Tuccu said that the village was established to help the needy people, so also to contribute towards economical, cultural and spiritual growth of the society, the release added.
Rev. Dr. Hevukhu Achumi, executive secretary, WSBAK offered monolith and village dedicatory prayer. Pushika Awomi, general secretary, NPF central felicitated the dignitaries with words of gratitude, while mothers of the village presented a folksong.
Kahoshe Tuccu chaired the function and Manase Awomi, pastor of the village Baptist church pronounced the benediction.
Host of government officials, GBs from surrounding villages, public leaders and well wishers attended the function, it was informed.
