DIMAPUR, JULY 10 (MExN): The Public Action Committee (PAC) comprising Naga Council Dimapur, Naga Women Hoho Dimapur, Urban colony Chairmen Federation, Dimapur Chamber of Commerce & Industries, Dimapur Sardar G.B union and 19 tribal Hoho presidents met on July 10 at Naga Council Office to deliberate on the exorbitant and random tax collection prevailing in and around Dimapur.
At the meeting, the house resolved to reaffirm on the public resolution taken on October 31, 2013 and to stand by "One Government, One Tax" and to restrict all forms of collection/multiple taxations/syndicate & dealership fees within Dimapur district "which is being randomly collected by agencies or in the name of underground groups causing untold harassment to business community and giving way to price rise in the market".
It also appealed all Naga Political Groups to restrain from any forms of collection within Dimapur district and to uphold their declaration to cease tax collection as publicised in the news media.
The meeting also called upon all NPGs to unite under one platform to pave way for an early solution to the prolonged Naga political issue. It further appealed to Dimapur district administration and the police to be vigilant and to take needful action in curbing "antisocial element" prevailing in and around Dimapur.
